Hope for Health in Colorado!!!

Happy Holidays - and GREAT NEWS from Health Care for All Colorado! Our President, Irene Aguilar, MD, has been chosen from 5 candidates to replace Chris Romer as representative in House District 32. That means that those of us who believe in Universal health care for Colorado residents have an articulate, determined fighter on the inside of the Legislature. She will lead our supporters in getting a bill passed that give us all affordable, comprehensive health care coverage.
That means that we must all come together and be the collective voice behind the legislative efforts.
Please join us on January 8th and 9th for HCAC's Legislative Kickoff for 2011. (This is the event I've talked to each of you about.) By the end of the weekend, we will be able to shout down all opposition to quality, affordable health care. It is time for our entire state to demand universal coverage!
We will be guided by Rose Roach, a fireball organizer and motivator from California. On Saturday we will take a look at the environment in which we will get this done. On Sunday, Rose will teach us specific techniques for being effective citizen lobbyists.
The insurance companies dominated the governor's meetings eliciting ideas for the state Health Exchange to be implemented in 2014. We don't like their ideas. That means that we must ALL come to the table to create a health care program, not a health insurance program. We have 800 seats to fill at North High on Saturday, so please distribute the attached flier to everyone you work with, everyone you care for, everyone you know who is mad as hell about health insurance coverage. Let's get together and learn how to best mobilize our own communities to get health care for all. I'll be looking for you and 50 of your comadres.
Bash On,GwenEllyn Nordquist,Board, Health Care for All Colorado Foundation
